Hafiz working to please his masters: BNF

Chairman Balawaristan National Front (BNF) Abdul Hamid Khan has said that nationalist parties are not stooges of anyone but have been working for the emancipation of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan whose rights have been usurped for decades by outsiders in connivance with their agents in the area.
He regretted that sons of the soil who raised voice for the rights of the people were being put behind bars in order to silence them, adding registering cases against national heroes was a conspiracy against the people of the region.
Mr Khan also called upon the international community to take notice of the situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, which is a disputed territory and its status is to be determined by the UN.
In his reaction to the recent interviews of Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafizur Rehman, the exiled BNF chief said that the puppet chief minister was issuing misleading statements in order to please his Pakistani masters.
“We are the aborigine and indigenous residents of Gilgit-Baltistan and our hearts beat with the people of the region. Hafizur Rehman is not sincere with Gilgit-Baltistan and working for his self interests and to please his masters and patrons.”
The BNF leader said that they were working for the emancipation of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and were not the agents or stooges of any force.
He said it was unfortunate that there are no independent judiciary in Gilgit-Baltistan otherwise he would have dragged people like Hafizur Rehman and Wazir Baig to the courts to expose the truth in front of the masses. The BNF chief said that as the courts were under the ministry of Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, justice cannot be expected from them.
Mr Khan said that those sons of the soil who were arrested on June 4, 2015, and sent behind bars are the heroes of Gilgit-Baltistan. They would have been in a better and luxurious positions today had they worked and raised voice for their own interests.
The BNF chief said that the role of Hafizur Rehman was like that of a film actor. How long he would be dancing to the tune of his masters on the basis of false statements and promises, he asked. He expressed the hope that he would be taking people like Hafiz to the dock when free and independent courts are set up in Gilgit-Baltistan sooner or later.
Mr Khan also condemned the firing incident on Muharram 10 at Hunza and said that such conspiracies to dive the nation and sow the seed of schism would never succeed.
He also criticized the operation in Darel and said launching such operations and violating the privacy of the people on the pretext of catching terror suspects was against the culture of the area and violated human rights.
The BNF chief also condemned the attack on a professor at the Karakorum International University (KIU) and warned the government to refrain from pressuring the people by referring such petty cases to the anti-terrorism court.
He said that the outsider forces were playing different tactics and games in the area by registering terror cases against those who raised voice for their rights but the terrorists killing innocent people remained scot-free till today. He also asked the international community to take notice of the illegal and unconstitutional steps being taken by Islamabad in the disputed territory of Gilgit-Baltistan.
